Dr Sina Babadi

SINA BABADI received his MSc in Power Electronics from the University of Bradford in 2011 and completed his PhD in Optical Engineering in 2017. After his doctorate, Sina worked as an Optical Engineer at Optical Limited, where he focused on the application of micro-optics in lighting systems and related technologies. Sina joined the LRDC in 2021, specialising in the design of optical components for transmitters and receivers in optical wireless communication (OWC), with a particular emphasis on free-space optics for both short- and long-distance applications. His research interests include high-efficiency power and data transmission using lasers and vertical cavity surface emitting lasers, and the development of reliable optical systems.
